A Pause in the Music

Today's post isn't related to beauty. At least, not directly. This is an update I didn't want to give, especially this early in the reboot of the blog.

Like millions of other people, I have health challenges. I was diagnosed with migraines at age 5. This is exceptionally early, but my mother also suffered as a child. They've been a part of my life as long as I can remember, but more of a nuisance than debilitating. That was, until the past year when my rescue medications stopped working. Luckily, I go to a world-class headache specialist. We've been trying different things, with different levels of success.

Two months ago it all started innocently enough with a nagging migraine. I've had those before- a period of time when I've had a migraine every day. This is different. Status migrainosus is a serious condition- migraine of 72+ hours that's essentially a migraine being caused by a migraine.

If I don't have a migraine today, 13 February, it will be the first day in 2016 without one.

Why share this on the blog? From a human side, those of you without migraines should reconsider your perception of the condition. It's not "just a headache". From the blog side, I have some awesome things to share with you but it'll be a little bit. I've been writing posts here and there in the few non-migraine hours I get.

I'm doing infusion treatments to try to break this cycle. I've seen amazing improvement in the past few days and am hopeful that they will prevail.  However, I can't swatch anything right now. I finally had to give up my swatch hand yesterday for an IV location. Not even thinking about it, I was at Sephora afterwards and tried to swatch an eyeshadow. When my fingers hit that tender location, I almost passed out from the pain.

So, I'm going to be using photos I previously took, or possibly pausing my Chanel Longwear nail test (I'm about to take color #2 off) and focusing on nails until we're done with these treatments and my hands and arms heal up. I have a few features just about finished so hopefully I can pull together enough content for the next week or so. Just please be patient.

What do I have planned? Well, I've collected 11 of the initial 15 Chanel Longwear Vernis, one of the Chanel Rouge Coco Stylos, stumbled into the Burberry spring highlighter, NARS Spring collecton, Lancome's Spring Collection, features on Christian Louboutin nails (I have all of the Noirs, will be completing my Pops collection by the end of the month, and Nudes by the end of March) and Christian Louboutin lips (I currently have 11 to share), and other fun things. So there's lots of content to come- if I can just get well.
